The choir celebrated its 50^th anniversary in 2020. It was founded as The Gap and District Musical Society in 1970. Nerida Ellwood served as the choir’s first conductor. Over the years there have been quite a number of choir members, conductors and accompanists – not to mention audience members.

On 29 May 2021 we celebrated a belated 50th anniversary with a concert attended by family, friends and former members of the choir.

To mark this milestone in the choir’s history, we have:

• compiled a list of past and present members
• created a short history/chronology of the choir
• put together a collection of photos and images drawn from the choir’s history (see below).

All of these are seen as “works in progress”, to be revised, corrected and updated. If you have a past or present connection with the choir, your input is invited.
