The Serenata Singers is a friendly community choir based in The Gap. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2020!
On Monday 14 March, the choir held an open night at The Gap Uniting Church auditorium, 1050 Waterworks Road. This was a no-obligation chance to meet choir members, find out about the choir, and observe and join in a rehearsal.
The choir welcomes new members. No audition is necessary. An ability to read music is helpful, but not required. The choir sings a variety of popular and show tunes, spiritual and folk songs. We sing in parts – that is, the sopranos, altos, tenors and basses may have different parts. This might sound difficult, but we have very clever directors who guide us on every piece of music. We picked up two new tenors at our last Open Night, and you do not need wait until the next. We invite you to any Monday practice at 7 pm in the church.
