Rangeview Daycare Centre Concert

The Serenata Singers once again visited the Rangeview Daycare Centre in West Ashgrove on Tuesday morning 14 May. The beautiful setting seemed to provide inspiration to the choir, and the concert included a number of “firsts”. The choir performed for the first time a number of songs that are new to its repertoire for 2019, including “Down to the River to Pray’, medleys from Oklahoma and HMS Pinafore, and “Annie’s Song” and “Leaving on a Jet Plane” by John Denver. The concert also marked the debut of our new Associate Conductor, Jenni Mersiades and featured first-time solos from choir members Ray Wiseman and Janiece Featherstone, both of whom acquited themselves brilliantly.

Also contributing were Lyn Orchard, Sharon Schinkel and Barbara Anderson, who treated us to “Let There Be Peace on Earth” in beautiful three-part harmony. John McCollow served as compere and Prue Gibbs, as always, capably handled the accompaniment.
