Keperra Sanctuary Concert

The Serenata Singers visited Keperra Sanctuary on Tuesday evening 28 May. A large and appreciative crowd enjoyed our program of medleys of works by Lennon-McCartney, Irving Berlin and John Denver; excerpts from Oklahoma and Les Miserables; and the well-known spiritual Down to the River to Pray. Soloists included George Reid, who made his debut as a soloist singing John Lennon’s Imagine; and Lois Cutmore, who in addition to performing her conducting duties, entertained with Dream a Little Dream of Me.  Barbara Anderson and Beverly Crouch added a touch of light classical, singing a duet of Summertime in Heidelberg from The Student Prince. The audience joined in enthusiastically for the community singing of The Beatles’ All My Loving and Fats Domino’s Blueberry Hill. Prue Gibbs, as always, handled the accompaniment expertly and Ian Symes did his usual superb job of compering. A fun night!
