The Serenata Singers travelled to Aveo at Newmarket on Sunday afternoon 23 June to perform before a small, but appreciative audience. Conductor Lois Cutmore commented afterwards that the choir was harmonising well, and that timing was as good as it has been this year. (Perhaps we are finally paying attention to the conductor!). Solos were performed by June Russell (“The Merry Widow Waltz”), Sue Stern (“Today”) and Ian Symes (“Misty”). Ian also handled the compere duties with his usual aplomb. As usual, Prue Gibb provided flawless accompaniment.
