The choir staged a “pop up” concert of Christmas carols at The Gap Shopping Centre on Saturday morning 14 December. This year we were able to use the vacant space previously occupied by Baxter’s Café and it provided a perfect setting, centrally located, with plenty of room and a surprisingly good acoustic. Shoppers were treated to a repertoire of familiar and not-so-familiar Christmas songs including Deck the Hall, Silent Night, The Friendly Beasts, I Saw Three Ships, the Aussie version of Jingle Bells and the wonderful Australian Christmas song, The Three Drovers, and others. Santa even stopped by briefly to join in the singing!
