The Serenata Singers community group has again provided some much-valued celebration in song for a group of residents at AVEO Newmarket on Sunday 17 October. We, as a group, provide opportunities to perform short one hour concerts for Community Groups, particularly at Age Care Facilities.
With our elderly being particularly vulnerable, our numbers were limited to 15 at AVEO, but even then, we were able to hit the note with an appreciative audience. With a combination of well know pieces (Fiddler on the Roof and Scarborough Fair), a couple of solos by our braver members, and of course a community sing-a-long, the audience very quickly joined in and clapped along.

Also being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our members wore pink ribbons while the musical director, Lois Cutmore, reminded us of the day with a bright pink wig (see photo). The group has more performances planned in the lead up to Christmas and look forward to entertaining. Keep an eye out for us performing Christmas carols at Samford and The Gap Village.

If you would like to join us, or would like us to join you, please check out our website at serenatasingers.org.au and contact us. We are always pleased to welcome new members.
