It is with great sadness that we farewelled our friend and avid singer, Denis Joyce. Denis has been a core member for Serenata Singers for over 10 years. He never had a bad word, was always there to help and even as his health failed in the last few months, Denis came along to rehearsals to support and encourage us.

We will sorely miss Denis at our Gala Concert on Saturday 19 November for which he was rehearsing and so wanted to be a part of. In tribute to Denis, we accepted an invitation from his family to sing “Goin’ Home” (based on Dvorak’s “New World Symphony”). A few images of Denis are attached in recognition of his gentle nature and ongoing contribution.
